I am a Freshman at Marian University majoring in Chemistry with a concentration in Pre Med and a minor in Psychology. I spent a couple years toward the end of my High School career tutoring through my national honor society after school. I felt inspired by students motivation to get help on issues; this fueled my enthusiasm to tutor. Growing up in a well sized town I had many opportunities to take every AP class in high school, including serval honors that challenged me and in turn helped me become a better teacher. I believe that, fundamentally, in order to become a better a teacher a person must be an amazing student. Through being I good student I have learned to critically think and ask the right questions and this is something that I implement in my teaching. Besides my academic studies I am very inspired by the arts. I teach piano and singing, and have for the past year, and this has lead me to another insight: children must have and fun and stimulating portion to their learning. Through videos, singing, or other activities a student become more involved with his or her learning and becomes inspired. This inspiration then leads to better results not just in the subject at hand but other areas of study. I am passionate about my students and I believe this carries. For myself, I think I can make teaching a part of my art because as Albert Einstein once pointed out "Its the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."
